We have recently hosted a Taiwanese delegation of semiconductor industry experts from Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan. The delegation members included ITRI VPs Dr. Pei-Zen Chang & Dr. Chih-I Wu with their colleagues and Mr. David Nan-Yang Lee from Taipei Representative Office Bratislava. A fruiful discussion included our research topics and identified several points of future collaboration in the fields of 2D materials, power electronics, and neuromorphic computing. We also agreed on strengthening the collaboration through new joint grant applications and exchange of students and researchers.

ITRI is a top research institution for applied research, a well established stepping stone between fundamental research of Taiwanese universities and globally established Taiwanese industry. ITRI has been named a Top 100 Global Innovator by Clarivate™ for the sixth time in fifth consecutive year, making it the most awarded research institution in Asia of all the time and only one of three government-sponsored research organisations to make the 2022 list. Collaboration of SAS with ITRI can help us improve the tranfer of our innovations into practice.
